Overview

The Puppet's Awakening

Lies of P is a dark, soulslike reimagining of the classic Pinocchio story, set in the crumbling, Belle Époque-inspired city of Krat. As a puppet created by Geppetto, I had to navigate a city overrun by bloodthirsty automatons and a mysterious plague. The atmosphere is thick with dread, and the weapon-assembly system allowed for some incredible experimentation. This is easily one of the most polished non-FromSoftware soulslikes I've ever played.

The Steep Climb

This was a brutal climb. The parry timing is much tighter than Sekiro, and the boss difficulty spikes are no joke.

  • The Wall: The King of Puppets (Romeo) was my biggest roadblock. It took me 4 hours of pure focus to learn his second-phase fire dance.

  • Build: Spent most of the game with a Motivity build, eventually settling on the Holy Sword of the Ark. The reach in its extended form saved me during the Nameless Puppet fight.

  • Performance: Played on PS5 Performance Mode. It held a rock-solid 60 FPS, which was mandatory for the perfect-guard timings.

The Path Ahead

Current Status: Base game Platinum achieved. Note: I haven't closed the book on this one yet. The DLC is still on the horizon, and with how the base game ended (that post-credits scene!), I’m ready to return to Krat the moment it drops.
